MALANG – The construction of crucial infrastructure continues to be accelerated by the Task Force (Satgas) of the 126th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) under Kodim 0818/Malang-Batu.
In Krajan 1B Hamlet, Lebakharjo Village, Ampelgading District, soldiers from Yonzipur 5/ABW (Army Engineer Battalion 5) are showcasing their technical expertise in advancing the construction of a vital drainage system.
A Long-Term Solution to Flooding and Waterlogging
This drainage project is one of the main physical targets of TMMD and is highly anticipated by the local community. A proper water channel is essential to address the problem of water stagnation and frequent flooding that affects residential areas in Krajan 1B Hamlet, especially during the rainy season.
Moreover, this drainage system plays an important role in supporting the irrigation network for nearby agricultural lands.
The Yonzipur 5/ABW personnel, working hand in hand with local residents, ensure that every segment of the drainage is built with strong and durable technical specifications.
“We are applying our engineering skills to make sure this drainage system is solid and functions optimally. It’s our commitment to provide the best infrastructure for the people,” said one of the Yonzipur personnel.
Unity and Cooperation as the Driving Force
The spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) has become the key to speeding up this project. Residents of Krajan 1B enthusiastically contribute, from supplying materials to mixing cement. The synergy between the TNI’s technical expertise and the active participation of the community accelerates the construction progress, allowing the benefits of the drainage to be felt sooner.
The completion of this tens-of-meters-long drainage system not only creates a cleaner and healthier environment but also improves quality of life and minimizes property damage risks from flooding.
Through the dedication of Yonzipur 5/ABW, TMMD 126 under Kodim 0818/Malang-Batu demonstrates that the synergy between the TNI and the people is a strong foundation for realizing regional resilience and equitable rural development. (*)
